About me

I'm a freelance editor by day and a fiction writer also by day. By night, I snuggle a spouse and two cats and stalk the night like Batman working for social justice. I'm a queer feminist christian seeking change and trying to listen better.

I have an addiction to watching SFF anime while ranting about LGBTQ-erasure. Other pastimes include hiking, playing piano, binge-reading queer books, and absorbing green tea through my pores.

Novels and writing projects

My current work in progress is a diverse YA fantasy in the vein of Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn and Amy Bai's Sword.

Incarra is a 16-year-old trans girl who believes in nonviolence, even toward the Empire. When she starts fulfilling her people’s messiah prophecies on accident, they riot, bringing Empire killers to her door. Searching for a way out of impending war, she uncovers a secret about the supposed prophecies that goes against everything her people believe.

My last project, still in the editing room, is about a Japanese girl abducted by Chinese pirates who plan to feed her to a holy dragon.

About the Blog

This is where I talk about good booksqueernessmental healthand other important stuff. This is a safe space.

I came out as bisexual in 2015. For my queer story, check out the Queerness & Christianity tab.

In 2006, I was in a really dark place dealing with sexual abuse, PTSD, and depression. It was through my experiences with attempted suicide that I came to trust and have an active relationship with the Jesus-God-man. Nevertheless, I've learned a lot from from others' beliefs and freely acknowledge even the few things I hold certain could be complete bullshit.

More than anything, my faith leads me to listening in the hopes of learning.
